The Edge of the Lake Empty The Edge of the Lake

Post by Guest Tue 20 Jul 2010, 11:12

Hilary wandered down to the lake. She had spent all day cooped up inside in classes and doing homework. She wanted to get outside and get some fresh air to clear her mind. And what better place to do that than next to the lake?

She dropped her bag next to her, sitting as close to the edge of the lake as she could without soaking her robes. She smiled she ran her hands though the water. After an entire day of writing, the cool water felt amazing.

She sat back a bit and pulled a book out of her bag. What better way to unwind than to read by the lake?

Theresa smiled when she saw Hilary, it seemed that she was relaxing. She hesitated about disturbing her but thought that she hadn't seen her in a while. "Hi Hilary" she said as she walked over to her. She sat down next to her and smiled as she put her bag down.

"Howdy," Hilary said, putting her book aside. Friends were far more important to her than any book would ever be. Books could be read at any time. Friends, on the other hand, tended to abandon you if you ignored them for very long. "How is it going?" she asked Theresa, with a smile.

"Pretty good, you wont believe it, Lauren who to me is now named tiny brain made me sink that I was a cute puff puff puff" she said, planning revenge on her. "Have you heard about Nick Hale, I couldn't believe an eleven year old could act like that" she said shocked. "Ew I sound like a gossiping hen" she complained.

Hilary just looked at her friend. She was so confused by what she had just said. "Wait, Lauren made you what? And... how, I guess?" She shook her head, laughing at the shenanigans her friends seemed to get up to.

"Yeah, I heard," Hilary said. "I still can't believe it. Have you heard anything about whether or not they're allowing him back? And, while we're being gossiping hens, did you read the Headmistress' last owl? About those two girls being expelled?"

Theresa laughed "it was a dare at it was so embarrissing, I had to sing it at the top of my voice" she said. She grinned "I got her back though, I dared her to dance to the castle and back from the lake like a monkey while making a siren sound as loud as she could and if anyone looked at her she had to shriek at them, only problem was that she thought it was fun" she said, pouting that her revenge was ruined.
"I heard it, for advatising, when I read the message, I was shocked, how did all those things happen without me noticing it" she said shocked.

Hilary laughed out loud at the thoughts of her friends doing those strange things. She really wished she could have seen those things. "I have to stop going to bed so early," she said, with a grin. "I'm missing all the best stuff!"

"It seemed like a lot happened without us noticing it," she mused. "Maybe it all happened while we were swimming with the giant squid, and that's how we missed it." She paused a moment. "If they keep banning people, there's not going to be many of us left around here."

Theresa snorted "it probably was, we were too busy trying to kill ourselves that we missed everything" she said dramatically, raising a hand to her heart. "Although, there probably isn't going to be many but it's the people who cant follow the rules and if they are not expelled for breaking the worst rules then everyone is going to do it and we will be surounded by madness" she said.

"Well, we didn't miss the giant squid. That was pretty awesome, you have to admit," she said, with a laugh. She didn't mind missing all the negative stuff, to be honest. If she wasn't there, she wasn't involved and couldn't get in trouble by association.

"That's true," she said. "And besides, all the awesome people who mostly follow the rules will be still around, so it's all good." She winked jokingly at her friend.

Theresa snorted "I hope you don't actually mean yourself with that little comment" she teased. "If anyone is awesome here, it is me Lady Theresa" she said in a posh voice before she broke down laughing. "Your right about the giant squid though, I would rather have seen that then all this stuff that people are talking about" she said.

"I didn't just mean me," Hilary said, pretending to be hurt. "I meant all of us of course! All of the people who make up the House of Awesome!"

She picked apart a leaf that had floated down from a nearby tree, pulling it into a bunch of shreds. "Let's do something fun and exciting!" she said, suddenly, though she had no idea what fun and exciting thing they could do.

Theresa giggled at her sudden outburst of finding something fun and exciteing to do. "You can come up with something then, I have ran out of ideas" she said as she sat down. She picked at the grass below her and grinned as she threw a handful at Hilary. She quickly looked up at the sky, trying to act and look as inoccent as possible.

"Hey!" Hilary cried as a handful of grass hit her. She wiped her hands over her robes, trying to get all the grass blades off of her clothing. "What was that for?" she asked, giggling. She quickly picked up a handful of grass herself and tossed it at Theresa. "You know, when I said I wanted to do something fun and exciting, a grass fight wasn't exactly what I had in mind," she teased.

Theresa stuck her tongue out at her "I have no idea what you mean, I didn't start anything" she said as she grinned at her. "Also, if you want to think of something fun and exciting, you can think of it yourself, I am happy here relaxing and my brain hurts from thinking too much" she joked as she looked back up at the sky, trying her hardest not to laugh.

"Yeah, sure, you're totally innocent," she said, sticking her tongue out at her friend. "And I'm Harry Potter."

She leaned back on her hands, giving up on trying to get the blades of grass off her robes. It was nice being out in the sun and relaxing, but at the same time, she had been sitting still all day. She wanted to be up and on the go.

"I want to have another party," Hilary said, suddenly. "Our first one was great. We should do it again."

Theresa giggled as she sat up and brushed some leaves off her clothes. She stood up and straightened her skirt before looking down at her friend. "Well ok then, after you Harry Potter" she teased as she bowed to her to go first, not even trying to hide her obvious smirk.

Hilary smiled, happy that her friend was game for a random party. "Alright, I'll meet you up in the Room of Requirement in five minutes," she said, jumping to her feet and grabbing her things. "If you see anyone on the way up, invite them to come!" She quickly raced across the grounds, up towards the castle.
