Kenna walked towards the table uneasy. The fact she just had to stand up infront of the whole school made her so nervous that she looked like she wanted to crawl into a dark hole and stay there for the rest of the year. But once it was over she was fine mostly.

She sat down further away from everyone. Hopefully she’ll be able to eat in peace for awhile.

Harmony stood at the end of the Ravenclaw table, grinning happily. They had a batch of new first years in their midst, and Harmony was dead set on them keeping that house cup. She sat down at the end she had previously stood at, grabbing just a few bites of food. She wasn't hungry anyway since she was hopped up on excitement.

Shannon quietly ate her food. No one sat next to her so she just kept to herself not butting into other Ravenclaw conversations.

She dark brown curly hair was half up and half down, cascading down her back, her sad , unseeing brown eyes stared off into space just thinking. Some might say she was a little like Luna Lovegood only not as unique.

She drumed her bright blue nails on the table in a certin pattern.

Jaelyn slid onto a bench across from a curly-haired girl who she was pretty sure she had seen at the Sorting. Shannon maybe? She smiled it her but didn't say anything in case the other girl didn't want to talk.

She began eating, loving the delicious food. She hadn't eaten anything on the train, and was too nervous to eat at breakfast, so this feast was just what she needed.

"Hello." Shannon said softly and offered the girl who had just sat next to her a small smile.

Shannon turned her head and made her hair fly. She quickly looked around to see if she had hit any one with it. She didnt.

"My name is Shannon Granger. What is yours?" Shannon asked still in her soft voice.

Dom left the stool from the sorting with a sigh of relief and walked proudly to the Ravenclaw table. He was stoked! He made it to Ravenclaw!

The youth found a seat next to Harmony and grinned at her, looking down the length of the table. He made eye contact with his brother, Phil, who also was a Ravenclaw. He nodded slightly, showing his approval.

Dom breathed another sigh of relief and looked at the other first years being sorted into Ravenclaw, and smiled. It looked like they had a good bunch this year.

"Hi." Jaelyn grinned at the quiet girl. She seemed shy. "I'm Jaelyn. Jaelyn Exley." She stopped eating to talk, even though the food was still sitting there tempting her. She tucked her hair behind her ears, even though she knew it would slip out in seconds because of the length. "Where are you from?"

"Oh I'm from the states. California, more specifically LA." Shannon said in her quiet voice. She looked around and saw a few other boys.
'Well Will wont be the only guy now. I hope he isnt too upset he has to share his dorm.' The brunette Ravenclaw thought.
"So where are you from? Whats your family like?" Shannon asked.

Catherine heard the Sorting Hat call out "Ravenclaw!", and with a broad smile she rose off the stool and put the magical artifact back on the vacated space. She strode over to the applauding table and found a space to sit by some other first years she recognized. "Hello fellows!" She cheered, so excited to finally belong to a group.

Harmony grinned at the first year boy who had sat next to her.

"Knew you had it in ya, Dom," she said, patting his shoulder. "My instinct is never wrong! Well, okay it's mostly never wrong, but I knew I had a good feeling about you. You'll do Ravenclaw proud. All the new first years will surely make Ravenclaw proud come to think of it."

Dom turned towards the hand on his shoulder and heard Harmony address him over the noise of the Great Hall. He grinned at her from where he was sitting.

"Hey, thanks heaps, Harmony. I really am glad that I'm a Claw. I was a bit anxious when the hat was on, but when he said Ravenclaw... I can't even describe the feeling."

Dom thought about what she said about him making Ravenclaw proud. He wasn't so sure that he would, but he'd try his best to.

"Exhilarating wasn't it?" She asked, beaming at the boy. "That's how I felt when the hat was on my head. I had been hoping for Ravenclaw, but the hat was fairly indecisive on either Ravenclaw or Slytherin. Then again, the hat always listens to what the student has to say, and I told him Ravenclaw."

Dom nodded as the girl explained how she had spoken to the hat and it had considered her suggestion. Dom was the same. He basically pleaded with the hat to place him in Ravenclaw and was so very glad when the hat obliged.

"I'm really looking forward to this year. We're getting some really good students in Ravenclaw." Dom observed, looking at the sorted first years at the table.

Merlin, did Will miss breakfast in Hogwarts. Yawning down five flights of stairs, a manipulative poltergeist that nearly got him trapped in the forbidden corridor, and a not-so-nice looking timetable of his classes, Will just needed some of Hogwarts' delicious pancakes.

Sitting down on the Ravenclaw table, Will started piling his plate with eggs and bacon, reading through the timetable. First class of the term was History of Magic with Professor Malfoy. Oh joy.

As his fork reached for the last pancake, a swifter hand grabbed a hold of the baked food and swiped it, leaving Will's fork empty of said pancake. He glared at the thief.

    "Oi, that was mine!"

Harmony stuck out her tongue at William as she placed the pancake on her plate.

"Ya snooze ya lose," she answered, grinning at him before turning back to Dom. "You're right. Actually, I believe that all the houses have gotten some great students in their arsenal, however, I think that Ravenclaw got some of the best pick of the lot."

When Harmony was momentarily distracted by talking to Dom, Reina seized the opportunity to swipe the offending pancake and stuff the entirety of it into her mouth. She a swig of pumpkin juice and continued to eat her breakfast as though nothing out of the ordinary had occurred.

Cass' nose twitched at Reina's bravado, but did nothing to indicate she'd seen anything.

Pureé wasn't really something she fancied on the first day of school- the idea of mustard right now was really unappealing- and so, breaking the habit, searched around for some Casserole, or a cheese omelette.

Wonder where the daily prophet is, too?

"So where are you from? Whats your family like?" the girl asked. Jaelyn had to strain her ears slightly to hear her.

"I'm from Bristol, but my family lived in Spain until I was three." Jaelyn smiled politely, stifling a sneeze. "I have a little sister, who's five. My dad's a Muggle and my mom is a witch. What about you?"

Reina munched on a bit of egg, softened by pumpkin juice, and folding it up, passed Cass the morning's issue of the Daily Prophet. She casually pointed out the article on the Irish's team's new beater, written by a certain Quidditch correspondent by the name of Selene Malfoy, Reina's step-sister-in-law.

"You guys suck," Will pouted as his beloved pancake was being tossed around like a Quaffle before Reina scored by eating it. Huffing, he snatched the Prophet and took out the Quidditch scores before throwing the rest of the newspaper back on the table. "Mine." He said plainly as he flipped open his sports paper and chewed on some bacon.

Sighing when Will took the Prophet, Cass looked around the Ravenclaw table to find another copy. Parkman had a copy that he was leaning on, so she thought best to leave that one...
Further along the table was a waterlogged one, but only in the top corner. It'd do.
Nodding gratefully at Reina as she sat back down, checking for any traps on the bench, Cass looked at the small article on the front cover about Hinkypunks. She looked hesitantly at the article, but read it anyway.
The muggles name them the will-o'-the-wisp, but are these creatures really misunderstood creatures? Find out more on Pages Eleven and Twelve.
Shrugging, she read the bigger article next to it, digging her free hand into her knee cap as she read, concentrating on the words and zoning out all of the conversations around her.

Cathilgas has been Ireland's most recent showcase of blood. On saturday, Cathilgas single handedly manned the bludgers in the game against Hungary, when Johnson fell foul to a joint attack from the other side's chasers, Gevlin and Moore. Cathilgas then proceeded to knock out seeker Bismark and aid Ireland to catch the snitch, just before the whistle. Cathilgas went on to say, "I'm just happy to be there, representing my homeland,"
Cathilgas has been offered position of deputy captain before the semi-finals in Chile.

"Hey, Reina. Did you see this article about Ireland?"
Cass made a mental note on the journalist. Mum had said to keep an eye out for a specialist sports writer, for her newspaper The Wrackspurt Chronicles. They had a special Quidditch edition every month with a pull out piece of the Quidditch pitch in the game of Bulgaria and Ireland about thirty years or so ago. She'd have to owl this Malfoy, although With the luck 'o' the Irish, thought Cass, Reina or one of the other interconnected pureblood children could just as easily do it for her.

    Besides, it was good pay.

After noticing that her pancake was gone, she sighed slightly before reaching for a muffin. Chewing on it, she glanced over at the section of the paper Will had.

"How's Puddlemere United doing?" She questioned him, leaning closer to the boy as she read over his shoulder.

She hadn't gotten the time to keep up with Quidditch while at Hogwarts, and she was quite appalled with herself. How could she forget about the star team, and more importantly, the star Keeper for said team?

"They got beaten pretty badly by the Appleby Arrows last Quidditch game," Will said conversationally as he flipped through pages. "Then again, Kent Clarkington's been an excellent chaser so far on that team. Not bad for a rookie with two-hundred singular goals under his belt." He grinned as the Kenmare Kestrels took out the Holyhead Harpies over the summer. They were a tough team to contend.

As he glanced at the overall scores so far, Will decided to check on America's Quod scores for good measure. Any sport was considered a good sport in Will's opinion.

Harmony leaned back away from Will, scowling slightly.

"Tch. Those Appleby Arrows. Definitely not a favorite of mine, that can be assured." She said. "But I will admit that Kent is a rather good chaser, I'm just surprised that they could get any past the Keeper for United. I wonder if he's out for the season."

"Oooh, the New Mexico Goal Hoppers really kicked it in last season," Will said to himself as he read the Quod scoresheet. He lowered the newspaper a little to address the Puddlemere United fan, his blue eyes glinting with mirth. "Maybe your Keeper's losing it? That does tend to happen, what with old age and all."
