Sofia stopped at the door's entrance, amazed by the floating feathers and each student's ability. She only hoped she would be able to complete the task. She took a seat and quickly got her wand out. Reading the instructions she concentrated. Swish and flick. Swish and flick.

She raised her wand and pointed it at the feather. With a clear voice she spoke, "Wingardium Leviosa!" Slowly, she saw the feather begin to float a few inches off the desk. At least it was something. She set her book out to complete the days homework, pleased with her progress.

    Homework:

    1. What is the charm for today? The Levitation Charm

    2. What object was being bounced around earlier? A muggle basketball

    3. What is the key points of Physics? Being able to put an object in motion, at rest and an object at rest, in motion.

    4. How does physics apply to charms? It gives the object the ability to be at motion or at rest.

    5. What is the incantation of todays charm? Wingardium Leviosa.

She looked around the room, seeing a girl's feather reaching the ceiling. More practice was definitely in order.

Shelby happily bounced into the classroom, excited for her first charms lesson. She grabbed a seat near the front and eagerly waited for the Professor to being. She took detailed notes as Professor Williams spoke. Levitation Charm, also known as Wingardium Leviosa... she scribbled on her parchment.

When the Professor gave her a feather, she stared at it for a moment, as if to force it to move without using the incantation. She raised her wand and said "Wingardium Leviosa" with a swish and flick of her wand. She watched happily as the feather floated up in front of her and over her head. With a satisfied smile she started on the homework.

    Homework:

    1. What is the charm for today?
    The Levitation charm

    2. What object was being bounced around earlier?
    A muggle basketball

    3. What is the key points of Physics?
Making an object in motion rest and making an object at rest move

    4. How does physics apply to charms?
Charms makes objects either move or rest using magic, which is the same thing that Physics does using force.

    5. What is the incantation of todays charm?
    Wingardium Leviosa

Dixie muttered Wingardium Leviosa under her breath. Waving her wand with a slow swish and a hurried flick. The feather gave a wiggle, and flopped over.
    Ok...
She resolved to practice until she got the hang of it, and pulled out a quill and parchment, deciding to answer the questions.

    1) What is the charm for today? Wingardium Leviosa
    2) What object was being bounced around earlier? A basketball.
    3) What is the key point of physics? The muggle study of making objects move.
    4) How does physics apply to charms? Physics is the muggle 'way' of making objects move, but with charms, physics is still applied, but objects are moved with magic.
    5) What is the incantation of today's charm? Wingardium Leviosa.

He concentrated on his feather to get it higher than the pathetic inch it was hovering.

Will swirled back on his seat to his feather. His face in absolute concentration as he maneuvered his wand. "Wingardium Leviosa!"

The feather seemed to shiver, which delighted Will. "Come on, you stupid feather! Lift!" He whispered the incantation which caused the feather to wobble dangerously.

Raven looked out of the corner of his eye and growled. Will's feather looked like it would lift soon. "Come on!" he whispered to his feather. "We can't let Will show us up!"
He grinned when it rose. A centimeter. His lost his grin.

His victorious expression turned to horror though, when his wand shot sparks out and the feather burst into flames. He cursed loudly as its charred remains fell back onto the table.

Reina slipped Will another feather under the table. A piece of parchment was wrapped around the tip.

Try pronouncing the incantation as clearly and delicately as possible, and use defined wrist movements, don't just flick it like you're trying to kill a blasted bug.

Hilary smiled. The movements required for this charm weren't too different from the ones she had just used in transfiguration class. Pulling out her wand, she looked down at her feather. She did the correct wand movements and said, "Wingardium Leviosa!"To her great surprise, especially after what little luck she had been having in her previous class, her feather leisurely floated upwards. She moved her wand so the feather fell back on her desk. She pulled out a clean sheet of parchment and scribbled down her homework.

    Homework:

    1. What is the charm for today?
    The Levitation charm, Wingardium Leviosa.

    2. What object was being bounced around earlier?
    A basketball.

    3. What is the key points of Physics?
Making an object in motion rest and making a resting object move.

    4. How does physics apply to charms?
Both physics and charms are used to make an object move or rest by some form of force.

    5. What is the incantation of todays charm?
    Wingardium leviosa.

After taking detailed notes on the lesson Orietta very carefully waved her wand and said, "Wingardium Leviosa."

    Nothing happened.

She sighed, annoyed with herself and tried again. "Wingardium Leviosa," this time the feather lifted slightly.

One more try and finally the feather lifted fully into the air. It took her a few minutes to gain complete control over the feather, but soon she was able to regulate how high it would go and where it would land.

She moved on to her homework.

    1. What is the charm for today? The Levitation charm

    2. What object was being bounced around earlier? A Muggle basketball

    3. What is the key points of Physics? Making an object in motion rest and an object at rest move.

    4. How does physics apply to charms? Both physics and charms explore the possibilities of making objects move or rest with use of force.

    5. What is the incantation of today's charm? Wingardium Leviosa

Lauren smiled as she walked into the class; she would love this class. Lauren took a seat at the front of the room, and listened intently to the professor as she explained physics and what it had to do with Charms. Lauren was smiling as she took notes; she didn't expect her first day in classes to be so much fun.

Getting a feather from the professor, she made her way back to her desk, noticing a few familiar faces in the classroom. Lauren sat down, feeling slightly nervous about this spell, as she had tried it before on the train, and she could only make the object move slightly. She wanted to do better this time!

Lauren took her wand and made the correct wand movement and spoke the incantation, Wingardium Leviosa. The feather rose and she directed the movement with her wand. If only Pete Walker could see her now! She thought.

Lauren was ecstatic as she wrote down her homework questions. Lauren felt more confident about being here, and being able to be a competent witch!

    Homework:

    1. What is the charm for today?

    The Levitation Charm (Wingardium Leviosa)

    2. What object was being bounced around earlier?

    A small muggle basketball

    3. What is the key points of Physics?

To make an object in motion rest and to make an at rest object move.

    4. How does physics apply to charms?

Because you use both physics and charms to make an object move; using force.

    5. What is the incantation of todays charm?

    Wingardium Leviosa

Having finished with her notes, Samantha put away her stationary and pulled out her wand. The Professor noticed her getting ready and levitated a feather to her desk helpfully. Samantha gave Professor Williams a small smile before turning to the task at hand.

It seemed easy enough, mutter the incantations, swish and flick. Samantha angled her wand at the feather. "Wingardium Leviosa," she whispered, already having learned that her spell worked much better when said in lower octaves from her previous classes.

*While trying the practical lesson for the spell, she accidentally sets the feather on fire* How did I do that?!?! That shouldn't be possible! *Raises her hand up nervously* Umm...Professor Williams? I think I need a new feather...I kind of set mine of fire...

    1. What is the charm for today?
The Levitation Charm withe the incantation Wingardium Leviosa

    2. What object was being bounced around earlier?
A Basketball! *Smiles. She used to play in a team, even though she wasn't very good*

    3. What is the key points of Physics?
How to make an object at rest in motion, and an object in motion at rest. I think...

    4. How does physics apply to charms?
Uhh...*Thinks for awhile until she finally writes down the answer down on her parchment* The Swish, flick, and force?

    5. What is the incantation of todays charm?

The feather rose to an inch and than sank back onto the desk. Samantha's lips curled in disappointment but she was not one to give up. Gritting her teeth in determination, she whispered the incantation again and the feather again rose half heatedly before flopping back down on the desk. If the Slytherin didn't know any better, she could have sworn she had the laziest feather of the lot.

Jasmeet picked up her wand, swish and flick and looked down at the feather on her desk.

Wingardium Leviosa she thought, practicing the movement of her wrist simultaneously.

Thinking that she was ready, she raised her wand up and said, “Wingardium Leviosa”. Before her she saw the feather rise, not to high, but it did. Smiling, she cast the spell once more. After getting a similar result, she started her homework.

    2. What object was being bounced around earlier? A Muggle Basketball

    3. What is the key points of Physics? To make an object in motion rest and an object at rest to move.

    4. How does physics apply to charms? Both are about making items move or making them rest when in motion. Though Charms does it with magic.

Parker had meandered into the classroom five seconds before the bell rang. It had taken him ages to find the classroom, and to be frank, he was surprised that he had made it on time. The lesson started with Professor Williams lecturing and soon, Parker felt his eyes drooping slightly and he tuned out the rest of the lecture.

Feathers were passed out and Parker's attention snapped back on the Professor. Wait, what just happened? she thought to herself. Blinking a few times, Parker hastily picked up his wand and started to jab the feather.

A few looks were exchanged from the students behind him and then he hastily muttered, "Wingardium Leviosa. Wingardium Leviosa. Wingardium Leviosa!"

Nothing happened. He glanced at the other students, catching a Ravenclaw performing an elegant swish and flick.

Oh. Well, that would explain the failure.

Parker cringed and took a breath. With a smooth movement, he swished his wand and flicked it at the feather. "Wingardium Leviosa..." It wobbled up in the air a little before floating back down. He grinned.

    Homework:

    1. What is the charm for today? the Levitation Charm

    2. What object was being bounced around earlier? apparently, a Muggle-basketball

    3. What is the key points of Physics? to make an object in motion, rest and an object at rest, in motion

    4. How does physics apply to charms? both have something to do with objects moving and resting, except physics is basically the study of how objects move through space-time while charms does it with magic.

    5. What is the incantation of todays charm? Wingardium Leviosa

Having been at it for almost twenty minutes, Samantha could now raise her feather two feet off her desk but try a she might, she cold not make it float anywhere but directly above the location it was placed on when not being levitated. Her intention for today had been to master the charm enough to float the feather back to Professor Williams desk but the white feather was not cooperating.

Lindy did her best to concentrate on what Professor Williams said and scribbles down notes as she went. When she was done it was time to turn theory into practice. Hopefully she would have an easier times in charms than she had in transfigurations. She picked up her wand and pictured the feather levitating in her mind. I can do this, she told herself. "Wingardium leviosa" she proclaimed doing the hand motion. The feather didn't so much as twitch.

Lindy scrunched up her nose and leered at the feather. "At least give me an inch or two," she whispered to the feather, as if her words were going to will it off the desk. She was prepared again. Swish and flick. "Wingardium leviosa." The feather scooted an inch across the table. She tried several more times to get the feather to move but the most that it did was scoot back and forth.

Lindy looked around the classroom at her classmates and then facepalmed herself. She's been doing the movement all wrong. Hopefully no one had been watching her. She cleared her throat mimicked what her other classmates were doing. "Wingardium leviosa."

The feather lifted gently off the table into the air and then drifted down gently. Lindy gave herself a mental high five and then went to complete her homework.

    Homework
    1. The charm we are learning today is the levitation charm
    2. The object being bounced around at the beginning of class was a muggle basketball
    3. The key potions of physics are to make an object at rest be in motion and an object in motion be at rest.
    4. Charms and physics go together because charms magically puts objects at rest in motions and objects in motion at rest.
    5. The incantation we used today was "Wingardium leviosa."

Carlee ran into the class just as the bell rang signalling the start of the lesson. She looked around, and found that there was a spare seat at the back. Brilliant, she thought, happily. She took her seat, and watched as her professor bounced the basketball around.

The professor talked about how Physics could be applied to Charms, and Carlee thought back to her muggle life - her sister took Physics in high school. Suddenly. Carlee's day was ruined because she was already missing her home.

Feathers were handed around, and Carlee pulled out her wand. This was the first time that she was actually going to use her wand, and she didn't quite know what to do.

Carlee swished and flicked without saying the incantation first, and sparks flew out of her wand. She smiled to hersself. She waved her wand again, but saying the incantation this time.

    "Wingardium L-leviosa!"

The feather vibrated, but that was it. Slightly disheartened, Carlee tried again and again.

Jenny sat down at a desk, quickly scrawling the answers to the homework on a piece of parchment.

    1. What is the charm for today? The Levitation Charm

    2. What object was being bounced around earlier? a muggle basketball

    3. What is the key point of Physics? Making objects in motion, rest, and an object at rest, move using forces.

    4. How does physics apply to charms? Physics involves motion and forces, which can be imitated by magical forces.

    5. What is the incantation of todays charm? Wingardium Leviosa

Now, Jenny smiled proudly, she could work on the incantation. She pulled out her Unicorn Hair wand and began swishing at the feather exactly as Professor had, however, nothing happened. Jenny scowled, loving challenges, but not used to them. She decided she was doing nothing wrong, as far as she could see, so she tried saying the incantation differently every time. After a few tries, she accomplished her goal. The light feather flew lazily up into the air, under her complete control. Now, how had I pronounced it that last time?...

Naty wasn’t really that into sports, and less muggle ones, so when she saw her teacher magically bounce a muggle basketball, she raised an eyebrow and sat at the end of the classroom.
But then profesor Williams started her speech and naty saw that it was going to be a really interesting class; regretting her desition of sitting in the back, naty decided top ay attention .
“wingardium leviosa… hmmm, that’s easy I have practiced with my aunt all summer for this” and with a quick and clean swish and flick she made the feather levitate at once.
*I have to thank aunt G for the training* she thought while grinning.
Seeing that she had this charm under control, she put her wand down and started to answer the questions for her homework so she didn’t have to make it later during her much apreciated free time.

    CHARMS
    CLASS 1

    1. What is the charm for today?
Answer: today we practiced “wingardium leviosa” which is a levitating charm.
    2. What object was being bounced around earlier?
Answer: prof. Williams was bouncing around a muggle basketball
    3. . What is the key points of Physics?
Answer: well there are a lot of “key points” in physics, but today the key points were how to make an object in motion, rest and an object at rest, in motion.
    4. . How does physics apply to charms?
Answer: well for muggles, physics and magic don’t combine, but we just know it is the same thing, is just that we use a different kind of force.
    5. What is the incantation of todays charm?
Answer: the incantation is “wingardium leviosa”
